SKILLMAN FOUNDATION & EXCELLENCE SCHOOLS DETROIT | PROJECT: COLLEGE SIGNING DAY

Education

This annual event “College Signing Day” The 2015 College Signing Day special guest was First Lady Michelle Obama.  The client was not able to announce the event until 48hrs before. Within 48hrs we had to secure a facility, invite all DPS and Charter Schools in the City of Detroit, work with secret service, hire entertainment, provide transportation for 2500 children and faculty on buses, park the buses, make sure every child got into the facility safely and exited the building safely, and provide an individual lunch on the bus for each child.

POP UP EVENTS was able to contact each school’s coordinator and send home permission slips, organize bus transportation with ABC Transportation, prepared 500 box lunches through Subway, organized each child to receive a lunch on the bus, and produced an experience for the event with Marching bands, Radio Station Dj’s, Detroit Pistons Flight Crew, and a full audio-video production.

Through our efforts the client was able to completely fill Wayne State University 5,000 seated auditorium safely with students and principals.

THE UPS STORE OF LANSING, KS | PROJECT: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Mailing, Retail 

The owners of this franchise store located in the rural area of Lansing, Kansas wanted to let the community know they existed and was ready and open for business. These owners had no way of contacting families by way of advertising due to advertising budget constraints. New owners didn’t really understand the concept of Location, Location, and Location when they purchased this store.

POP UP EVENTS created a Halloween Event that allowed parents to bring their children in their costume, when prizes, dance to the sounds of a DJ in a dance contest, Play in several Bounce Houses, Face Painting, Balloon Decorating and have their fortune told by a real live fortune Teller. POP UP EVENTS was able to create a flyer and have our street team go door to door in targeted neighborhoods.

The client had over 300 families in their parking lot and in their store enjoying the festivities. This UPS Store is now on the MAP with the Lansing, Kansas community

UNITED HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY PLAN | PROJECT: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Healthcare

United Healthcare Community Plan contacted POP UP EVENTS because they needed to connect with the Western part of Michigan and engage the community with their brand. United Healthcare Community Plan needed to build name recognition on a one on one bases, they needed to go beyond the national advertising.

POP UP EVENTS created a movie night at a local park inviting families to come out and enjoy a first run movie on the grass, under a tent, on a blanket, or in a lawn chair. We provided food from local Food Trucks and Ice Cream Trucks for dessert. POP UP EVENTS had a six-piece band for dancing, Face Painting, and tons of giveaways from United Healthcare Community Plan.

This Client had three events during the summer of 2015 and connected to the community. Now when the people from Kalamazoo have a chance to choose a healthcare provider they chose United Healthcare Community Plan because they feel a special connection to the brand.
